Episode 43: Jarrett Nicolay – The Smiths / Louder Than Bombs

Episode 43 is now up on πŸ, Google Play, Stitcher and TuneIn! We sat down with Alexandria, VA, based multi-instrumentalist and record producer Jarrett Suburban-Hermit Nicolay. For those unfamiliar with Nicolay’s work, check out his solo project My New Mixtape, and bands Virginia Coalition, Astra Via and Franklin Gotham. We discussed an important English Rock band known as The Smiths and their 1987 compilation titled Louder Than Bombs. Jarrett shares his discovery of the band in his formative years, thanks to a school art teacher’s box of cassettes, as well as his appreciation for The Smiths aesthetic. LTB was released as a double album and features a wonderful breadbasket of singles, B-sides and John Peel Sessions.
